Burgham Horse Trials 23rd-25th of July, Burgham Park development five miles north of Morpeth on the A1, Northumberland
This isn't just any Festival - this is the brand-new, action-packed, thrill-a-minute Burgham Horse Festival. It's a fantastic new addition to Northumberland's sporting calendar, and it will attract thousands to the county. They won't all be horse-lovers, because this Festival has something to please just about every member of the family, with a variety of attractions, opportunities for retail therapy galore - and a special Food Hall offering a feast of locally-produced fare to please every palate.
Set in the lovely Burgham Park development five miles north of Morpeth on the A1, the Festival's first year will feature top-level Showjumping, with an exciting range of classes in two arenas for everyone from aspiring amateurs to top professionals - even giving our Olympic competitors a challenge as part of their preparation for 2012.
There's also Dressage for those who enjoy the skill and elegance of horse and rider working in perfect harmony.

On Market days you can buy local produce, find a bargain and enjoy the genial atmosphere in the Market Place. It is a way of life for many local people who come each week and for visitors it can be an enjoyable part of your day out in Alnwick.

Cartmel Show is always a firm favourite with both visitors and locals. The Show, held on the first Wednesday in August, offers a profusion of family entertainment packed into the picturesque parkland setting at Cartmel Racecourse. A traditional Country Show with its roots firmly within the agricultural community, Carmel Show provides the opportunity to sample the delights of rural life at its best.

The show is one of the largest one day shows in the country. In 2009 the attendance was up again to almost 18,000 people.
2009 was a special year and we promised the best show ever, and delivered. Last year despite the credit crunch we were determined to match the previous success. We did, with more attractions in the main ring, great support from all the exhibitors, and some great weather. We had a fantastic year.
As soon as one show is over work on the next one begins. Our aim for 2010 is to produce another great day out for all the family. The animals, the crafts, the flowers, the vegetables, and all the marquees and stands which create a great Agricultural show will be there. There will be attractions for children, slides bouncy castles, everything needed for a fun day out.
